On the 14th of December, Wouter Vanstiphout and our ‘We The People’ graduation students will participate in the kick-off event of Play the city’s public research program Majority Report.
Everyday interactive new media tools pop up and reach you through the web, mobile devices or sensors in the city. Some of these tools promise to provide you with a greener future, more efficient mobility, better connected citizens, a more transparent governance or higher living quality. But is this really the case? Which one of these platforms actually makes a real change in your life?
The Designs as Politics students open this kick-off event by presenting their digital tool for the city, followed by the actual launch of the Majority Report research program by the Play the City Foundation. This program concerns mapping and evaluating interactive city tools to improve the quality and integration to our daily urban life. The evening will end with a public brainstorm meeting along with our students, Wouter Vanstiphout, Juha van het Zelfde, Christiaan Ernsten, Michiel de Lange , Ger Baron and Egbert Fransen.
The kick-off event is open to public and takes place on the 14th of December from 19:00hrs until 22:00hrs in the Mediamatic Fabriek, VOC-Kade 10-12, Amsterdam. Hope to see you there! (Bring your public transport cards [OV Chipkaart] and a warm coat, it can be cold inside)
