Design as Politics was asked to participate in the Lisbon Architecture Triennale 2013 ‘Close-Closer’. Our contribution was part of the The Institute Effect – a constantly changing international residency program in which 12 institutions were invited to takeover the exhibition space of the MUDE Design as Fashion Museum to exhibit in it and to host public events.

Design as Politics’ Marta Relats introduced the work of Design as Politics, including the formats and tools explored with the students, the research areas and contemporary issues on debate, especially focusing on our ‘Follow the Money’ program. During a public program we subsequently talked with Portuguese guest speakers on their perspectives and experiences on the presented issues.
